August Update

The Herbie Turner Cup

Andover Lions won the 2021 Herbie Turner Cup Final against Pewsey Reds at Salisbury on 15/8/21The match was close throughout but Andover came out winners 69-58 winning on 3 of the 4 rinks.

This is the 3rd time Andover have won this competition, the last time being in 2011.

Well done to Rob Still, our Captain, under whose leadership we have now won the Cup to go with our League win in 2018

July Update

Andover Lions won through to the final of the Herbie Turner Trophy by beating Spitfires 70-50 on 22nd July and now play Pewsey in the final at Salisbury on Sunday August 15th.


The semi-final was a close fought contest at Andover finishing 27-29 but the away team had an impressive 43-21 win at Salisbury.

June Update

Andover Lions won their first Round Match in the Herbie Turner Cup beating Amesbury 62-52 in spite of forfeiting 9 shots for being a rink short.

Andover then lost their next 3 Cup Matches losing away to Alton Social in the Tony Allcock Trophy (Mixed Rinks) on a really wet night then narrowly to Cove at home in the National 2 Fours 22-28 and finally to a strong Kingsclere side in the National Top Club.

Andover won the Singles and Rinks but lost the other 3 disciplines.'


Andover have now played in 3 of this season's Cup Competitions.

County Mixed Top Club Competition

We hosted Sports Centre from Southampton in the County Mixed Top Club Competition on 15th May. Although we won the Pairs and Rinks we lost both singles and the triples so that is it for this year.

The Herbie Turner Cup

Andover Eagles also lost in the first round of the Herbie Turner to Pewsey Reds on 3rd June (45/83).

National Top Club Competition

Andover Men had a better day in the National Top Club Competition on Sat 5th June. We were drawn away to Liphook and managed to win 5-0 on an awful green.

We now play either Cove or Kingsclere at Home in the next round.
